Find the perimeter of the window to the nearest tenth with a radius of 20 cm

I wonder what shape the window is? It has a radius so I expect a circle but you use the word perimeter which is usually reserved for shapes with sides.

So my guess is you are looking for the circumference of a circular window with radius 20. The circumference is given by (pi)d where d is the diameter. The diameter is twice the radius so 40. We use 3.14 to approximate pi.

That makes the circumference (the distance around the circle) = (40)(3.14)=125.6

If it takes 1/2 day to write a report, how much will be completed after 1/4 of a day?
lana [24]

Answer:

You have completed only half in a 1/4 of a day

Step-by-step explanation:

think of it this way

lets say in half a day e.g at 12pm you finish the report

half of 12 is 6

so that would be a 1/4 of the day

100%=24 hours=whole day

50%=12 hours=half a day

25%=6 hours = quarter of a day

25% = 1/4

i hope this helps

A rectangular garden measures 29 ft by 37 ft. surrounding (and bordering) the garden is a path 2 ft wide . find the area of this
Andreas93 [3]

Answer: The area of the path is 280 ft^2

(Note that 280 ft^2 means “280 feet squared”)

Step-by-step explanation: The first clue in this question is the dimensions of the rectangular garden which have been given as 29 ft by 37 ft. So we can conveniently compute the area of the garden as follows;

Area = L x W

(Length is 37 ft and Width is 29 ft)

Area = 37 x 29

Area = 1037 ft^2

However there is a path surrounding the garden which is 2 ft wide on all four sides. This means both borders of the length have an extra 4 feet of measurement while both borders of the width also have an extra 4 feet of measurement. So, if the surrounding border and garden is measured altogether, the length would become (37 + 4= 41) 41 feet while the width would become (29 + 4 = 33) 33 feet. So the area of the garden and the surrounding path inclusive can be calculated as

Area = L x W

Area = 41 x 33

Area = 1353 ft^2

To determine the area of ONLY THE SURROUNDING PATH, we simply deduct the area of the GARDEN ONLY (1073 ft^2) from the area of GARDEN AND SURROUNDING PATH (1353 ft^2)

Therefore area of the path surrounding the garden becomes

Area of path = 1353 - 1073

Area of path = 280 ft^2

What is the slope of a line that runs parallel to y = 2 x + 5?
Ganezh [65]
The equation "y=mx+b"  is the slope-intercept forme of a line with slope "m" and y-interceptept (0,b)

In this case:
y=2x+5;
the slope "m" will be equato to : "2".

Answer: the slope is 2.

Which type of transformation creates a shape where only the angles are congruent to the original shape?
lara31 [8.8K]

Dilations. This is because dilations are a change in size of the shape. However, the angles would stay the same. In the rigid transformations, translations, rotations, and reflections, the size and angles would stay the same.
