Answer:

climax

Explanation:

The climax (from the Greek word κλῖμαξ, meaning "staircase" and "ladder") or turning point of a narrative work is its point of highest tension and drama, or it is the time when the action starts during which the solution is given. The climax of a story is a literary element.

Because the officer had a serious look on his face Manuel got the feeling he was in trouble. This is the build up of drama. When the officer spoke it was much less worrying as if all the tension was released so I believe it is the climax.

Zigmanuir [339]

Answer:

The context clue for the word diaphanous can be categorized as comparison.

Explanation:

As we know, context clues are, as the name suggests, clues or hints a writer gives to help readers understand the meaning of certain words or expressions. In the sentence, "The curtains in the house were diaphanous like a piece of clean glass," we have an adjective that is quite uncommon, diaphanous. What the author does, then, is he/she compares the diaphanous curtains to something else as a means of eliciting what being diaphanous means. In this case, the comparison happens by the use of simile, a figure of speech which compares two different things by using support words ("as" or "like"). It is very common for writers to use metaphors as comparison context clues as well.

From the comparison context clue given by the author, we can assume that diaphanous means clear, translucent.

Blake is showing his work in simplifying (4.6 − 9.2) − 0.8 + 5.4. Identify any error in his work or reasoning.
Anestetic [448]
Based from Blake's step-by-step solution, the error in his work is stated by choice A. He wrote associative instead of commutative in Step 4. In Step 4, he changed the position of -10 and +5.4. This action can be done due to the commutative property of addition which states that numbers can be added in any order. Whereas, the associative property of addition states that numbers can be added regardless of the way they are grouped.
