The villagers' lack of urgency suggests how difficult it was for many people to believe that Hitler could and would actually car

ry out his threat. Why do you think it is difficult for people to acknowledge something bad is going to happen to them? What could this say about the Jewish people living in Germany at this time?

Answer and Explanation:

1. People find it difficult to recognize that something bad is going to happen to them because of fear. Fear encourages us to reject the idea of the evil that can happen to us as a way of de-stressing us and preventing us from becoming too anxious. Denial is a way of rejecting evil and keeping us hopeful and confident.

2. The Jewish people were very afraid of what Nazism could do to them and even if their situation got worse by the minute, they believed that it would end at any moment and that it would not reach the point it reached. That thought was a way to stay strong and endure everything that was happening, despite the fear.

I think that the author intended D. to give the reader an understanding of life in Missy's rural Kentucky town.

The author's use of phrases like "ugly as a mud stick fence," "pie-faced heavy girl," "for-pay ironing," and "dressed like an eye test." is simply to show how Missy thinks and speaks. She is a girl who is brutal and honest in her opinion and she doesn't mince words. She just tells what she sees as it is.

teenagers often have different sleep habits than adults. would you oppose or support moving the start and finish time of school
Svetradugi [14.3K]
I would oppose it. Studies show teens biological clocks naturally want to go to bed later and wake up earlier. By making school and hour earlier this makes teens more groggy especially because their bodies do not want to go to sleep earlier so this can cause sleep deprivation which will make school work less concentrated and makes teens attitudes about school worsen.

The correct answer is D. The men who had just spoken before him. At the beginning of his speech he apologizes for not agreeing with most of the opinions expressed previously by some of those present. He asks them to fight for freedom since peace does not exist even though men shout peace! peace!. The expression "siren song or song" refers to the speech with pleasant and convincing words but that may hide some deception or seduction. Patrick with his words inspired the beginning of the American Revolution. He incites the struggle not to chains and to slavery.
