Answer:

124 in^2

Step-by-step explanation:

Please see the attached image.

The area of the rectangle is 6*14=84

The area of the triangle is (8*10)/2=40

The total area is the rectangle plus the triangle, so 84+40=124 in^2.

Ray is 3 years older than half his sosters age if ray is 10 years old how old is his sister
REY [17]

Answer:

14 years old

Step-by-step explanation:

Assume Ray's sister's age is x.

Ray's age is (x/2)+3, i.e (x+6)/2

If Ray is 10yrs old,then

(X+6)/2 = 10,

x+6 = 20

x = 14

Therefore,Ray's siSter's /e is 14years

How do I solve a problem like this??
Julli [10]

Well this is an equilateral triangle so then a=b. so then b=4 as well. so then now you have a^2 + b^2=c^2.

4^2+4^2=c^2

16+16=c^2

32=c^2

Find the square root of 32 which is approximately 5.65685.

Find the square root of c^2 which is c.

so then 5.65685=c

A grocery store manager notices that this month her store sold a total of 521 gallons of ice cream, which represents a decrease
goldenfox [79]

Answer:

Last month the grocery store sold 578.88 gallons of ice cream and 632.8 pounds of broccoli.

Step-by-step explanation:

Since a grocery store manager notices that this month her store sold a total of 521 gallons of ice cream, which represents a decrease of 10% from last month, and on the other hand, her store sold 791 pounds of broccoli this month, which It represents an increase of 25% from last month, to determine how much ice cream and broccoli did the store sell last month, the following calculation must be performed:

Ice cream = 100 - 10 = 90

90 = 521

100 = X

100 x 521/90 = X

52,100 / 90 = X

578.88 = X

Broccoli = 100 + 25 = 125

125 = 791

100 = X

100 x 791/125 = X

79,100 / 125 = X

632.8 = X

Therefore, last month the grocery store sold 578.88 gallons of ice cream and 632.8 pounds of broccoli.

You essentially have four triangles.  The area of a triangle is:  A=bh/2  (b=base length and h=height)

So the area is simply the sum of the four triangle areas...

A=(3*2)/2+(3*2)/2+(7*2)/2+(7*2)/2

A=20 ft^2
