Prepare a short report on any available health service in your community ?
alexira [117]

Answer:

Many factors influence health and well-being in a community, and many entities and individuals in the community have a role to play in responding to community health needs. The committee sees a requirement for a framework within which a community can take a comprehensive approach to maintaining and improving health: assessing its health needs, determining its resources and assets for promoting health, developing and implementing a strategy for action, and establishing where responsibility should lie for specific results. This chapter describes a community health improvement process that provides such a framework. Critical to this process are performance monitoring activities to ensure that appropriate steps are being taken by responsible parties and that those actions are having the intended impact on health in the community. The chapter also includes a discussion of the capacities needed to support performance monitoring and health improvement activities.

In developing a health improvement program, every community will have to consider its own particular circumstances, including factors such as health concerns, resources and capacities, social and political perspectives, and competing needs. The committee cannot prescribe what actions a community should take to address its health concerns or who should be responsible for what, but it does believe that communities need to address these issues and that a systematic approach to health improve-

Which statements describe the endocrine system? Check all that apply.
Anarel [89]

The following statements describe the endocrine system:

1. It helps regulate mood- The endocrine system regulates the release of hormones and

neurotransmitters such as dopamine, serotonin, oxytocin and cortisol in human bodies. These hormones and

neurotransmitters secreted by the endocrine system in turn affect our mood by

increasing or decreasing levels of happiness, rewarding seeking behavior, stress, etc.

2. It helps regulate reproductive processes- The endocrine system consists of reproductive glands in males and females. In females, the hormones estrogen and progesterone secreted by reproductive glands (ovaries) regulate menstrual cycles, egg fertilization and reproduction. Whereas, in males, reproductive glands (testes) regulate sex hormones, such as testosterone, sexual arousal and sperm count.

3. It helps regulate growth and development- The hormone known as human growth hormone (HGH) is released by the endocrine system. HGH is responsible for growth, an individual's height and development of the physical body, especially during childhood and up to early adulthood. HGH is also responsible for cell reproduction and regeneration in humans.

4. It secretes hormones into the bloodstream- The endocrine system functions primarily by releasing hormones in the bloodstream. The endocrine system consists of various glands around the body, that have their own respective functions. Each of these glands secrete different hormones in the bloodstream. The different glands that comprise the endocrine system in human bodies include: the hypothalamus (in the brain), pituitary glands, thyroid gland, parathyroids, adrenal glands, reproductive glands and pancreas.
