Answer:

<u>Lipid:</u>" They are water insoluble compounds, i.e waxes and steroids. Due to the fact they have long hydrphobic chains which make them unable to dissolve in water solvents."

  • As the lipid molecules are structured by glycerol molecules linked with the long carbon chains and the bonding occurs in two basic forms,as saturated(alkanes) and in unsaturated (alekenes, alkynes)form of lipids or fatty acids.

Explanation:

  • <u>Cell membrane composition:</u>

<u>Structure of Phospholipid and Sterols:</u>

  • The cell membrane is mainly composed of two types of lipids, the phospholipids and the sterols, which helps making the lipid bi-layer for the cell. There are two portion of the lipid structure, the hydrophobic tail, and the hydrophilic head. This is property is called as “amphiphilic” property of the phospholipids, as it helps the molecule during the composition of cell membrane structure.
  • While the Sterols (cholosterol) have the ring like structure, in which there is a  lipid-soluble region, along with having a hydroxyl group portion which is the water-soluble region in the molecule.

<u>Function inside the cell membrane:</u>

Liposomes carry out the function of being the structural unit for composing the structure of the cell membrane. Liposomes are globular structure which are formed when the phospholipids or its mixture is immersed in water solvents. The lipid bilayer is observed inside the cells membrane under the microscope, which are basically the liposomes. As they are seen as concentric lipid bilayer bodies inside the cell membrane.

<u>Mechanism:</u>

As the concentric layers has two parts the water soluble and water insoluble portion. The hydrophilic part of the molecule is attracted towards the water solvent, while the hydrophobic part remain inside. As the two parts make a circular structure, while on the center of the fatty acid molecules are remained.

Other factors being equal, which sensory stimulus is least likely to lead to sensory adaptation?
valentina_108 [34]
The correct answer is: the wail of a loud car alarm.
Sensory adaptation is a term that refers to the changes that stimuli can trigger on the sensory receptors. The process involves changes in the receptors' sensitivity and it is believed that all of the senses exhibit this adaptation. In particular, the sense of touch can quickly adapt to hot and cold stimulation, but not when the stimulus is extremely intense (such as too hot or too cold). Also, our olfactory sense presents the characteristic of odour fatigue. A prolonged exposure to a specific smell leads to a temporary inability to sense this smell and this is a type of sensory adaptation. Finally,
our hearing undergoes a sensory adaptation as well, but not when it comes to sudden, unexpected and instantaneous loud noises. That is why the wail of a loud car alarm will be the least likely to cause sensory adaptation.

Cheamical structure or formula for photosynthesis
tatyana61 [14]

Answer:

6CO2 + 6H2O + light → C6H12O6 + 6O2

Explanation:

Photosynthesis can be represented using a chemical equation.

The overall balanced equation is...

6CO2 + 6H2O ------> C6H12O6 + 6O2

 Sunlight energy

Where: CO2= carbon dioxide

H2O = water

Light energy is required

C6H12O6 = glucose

O2 = oxygen
