The right answer is  A)They wanted a strong central government. They accepted that a stronger national authority was needed and that such an authority required an independent source of revenue to function properly.  The Constitution was ratified in 1788 because it promised to  create a more powerful central government better capable of  managing a sprawling—and rapidly growing—new republic. The new constitution would promote prosperity by reducing taxes, paying off the war bonds, and expanding the money supply. Ratification of the Constitution was difficult, especially in the key states of Virginia and New York. Anti Federalists such as Virginia’s Patrick Henry favored a decentralized federal system and feared that the absence of a bill of rights would lead to a loss of individual and states’ rights. Ratification became possible only with the promise of a bill of rights.

Why many americans blamed spain for the explosion of the uss maine?
kondaur [170]
Before the USS Maine exploded, the United States was trying to expand as a world power. Thus, many Americans blamed Spain for the explosion of the USS Maine because it gave them a reason to declare war on Spain and take control of Spanish territory in the Pacific and Caribbean.

The Legislative Branch (Congress) which is our
neonofarm [45]

All legislative Powers herein granted shall be vested in a Congress of the United States, which shall consist of a Senate and House of Representatives.

To balance the interests of both the small and large states, the Framers of the Constitution divided the power of Congress between the two houses. Every state has an equal voice in the Senate, while representation in the House of Representatives is based on the size of each state's population.

Today Congress consists of 100 senators (two from each state) and 435 voting members of the House of Representatives. The terms of office and number of members directly affect each institution. With four times the membership, the House follows procedures closely and limits debate.

The main reason the articles of confederation were replaced as the basis of the United States government was that they
nikklg [1K]

The Articles of Confederation were replaced by the US Constitution because the federal government had almost no power. Since the federal government had almost no power, very few new laws were passed and the US could not raise a strong army to put down Shay's Rebellion.

When creating the Articles of Confederation, framers feared giving the central (aka federal) government too much power. This was based on America's experience with a "tyrannical" central government when they were under British rule. This is why the Articles of Confederation does not give the federal government the right to tax and needs 13 out of 13 states in order to add an amendment.
