Whats the solution to the given system of equations? <br><br> -5x+8y=-36 <br> 5x+7y=6
AleksandrR [38]

Answer:

x=4, y=-2

Step-by-step explanation:

-5x+8y=-36

5x+7y=6

eqn 1+ eqn 2 gives

15y=-30

divide both sides by 15

y=-2, put in eqn 2

5x+7(-2)=6

5x=20 divide both sides by 5

x=4

Find the equation of the line that goes through the points (4, –1) and (2, –5).
poizon [28]

Answer:

y= 2x -9

Step-by-step explanation:

<u>Slope-intercept </u><u>form</u>

y= mx +c, where m is the slope and c is the y-intercept.

\boxed{slope =  \frac{ y_{1} - y_2}{x_1 - x_{2}} }

Slope

=  \frac{ - 1 - ( - 5)}{4 - 2}

=  \frac{ - 1 + 5}{2}

=  \frac{4}{2}

= 2

Substitute m= 2 into the equation:

y= 2x +c

To find the value of c, substitute a pair of coordinates.

When x= 4, y= -1,

-1= 2(4) +c

-1= 8 +c

c= -1 -8

c= -9

Thus, the equation of the line is y= 2x -9.

The order of the size of angles is related to the order of the length that is opposite to that angle.

angle A is across from the smallest side, 2.4.
angle C is across from the middle side, 3.2
angle B is across from the longest side, 5.5

if you think about it, angle B has to be widest angle for it to accommodate the longest length (longer it is, the more you have to open). anlge A has to be the smallest angle for it to correspond with the smallest length

The order of smallest to largest is ∠A, ∠C, ∠B
