Answer:

x = 3

x = -1

x = -9

x = 25

x = 8

x = -29

x = -1

x = 4/6

Step-by-step explanation:

For each of these, you simply subtract the similars from each other. Basically meaning, the number with variables will be subtracted from each other while the constants will be substrates from each other. In the first case, you’ll subtract 3x from 6x and be left with 3x. Then it’d be 3x + 7 = 16. Now you don’t want to subtract 16 from 7 as to not leave the right side empty but rather to have one coefficient with it’s variable on one side and a constant on the other, you’ll subtract 7 from 16 and get 9. 3x = 9. Then to get the x by itself, you’d divide because (3x) is multiplication, basically (3*x) so to rid one value from a multiplication problem, you’d have to divide. So you’d divide 3 from both sides. And get x = 3.

Solve the following linear system by graphing <br> 4x+5y=10<br> 3x-3y=21
Inga [223]

Answer:

y = 2

x = 5

Step-by-step explanation:

4x + 5y = 10 | ×3 |

3x - 3y = 21 | ×4 |

12x + 15y = 30

12x - 12y = 84

____________--

27y = -54

y = -54/27

y = 2

4x + 5y = 10 | ×3 |

3x - 3y = 21 | ×5 |

12x + 15y = 30

15x - 15y = 105

____________+

27x = 135

x = 135/27

x = 5

Jason and his family travel 160 miles in 3.2 hours. If they continue at this constant speed, how long will it take them to trave
Inga [223]

It will take them 6 hours to travel 300 miles. How I got my answer: 160 divided by 3.2 = 50 miles per hour, 300 divided by 50 = 6 hours. Hope I could help! :D

Find the coordinates of the midpoint of TU for T(3,1) and U(5,3)
bixtya [17]
<h3>Answer:  (4,2)</h3>

==========================================================

The given points are T(3,1) and U(5,3)

The x coordinates of these given points are 3 and 5. Add them up to get 3+5 = 8. Then cut this in half getting 8/2 = 4. This is the x coordinate of the midpoint.

The y coordinates are 1 and 3. They add to 1+3 = 4. Then that cuts in half to get 4/2 = 2. This is the y coordinate of the midpoint.

The midpoint is (4,2)

Effectively, we just used the midpoint formula

(x_m, y_m) = \left( \frac{x_1+x_2}{2}, \frac{y_1+y_2}{2} \right)

In short: add the corresponding coordinates, then divide by 2.
