"A Rose For Emily"
True [87]

Miss Emily shows she couldn't care less about society's rules and expectations in "A Rose for Emily" when she:

 • Refuses to pay taxes.
 • Refuses to have a mailbox.
 • Refuses to talk to people or give them explanations.

Who is Miss Emily?

Miss Emily is the main character in Faulkner's "A Rose for Emily." She dies at the age of 74, but not without causing much commotion in town throughout her life.

Miss Emily does not seem to care about society's rules. She is set in her ways and does not give in to insistence of any kind. They try to get her to pay taxes, but she refuses to. They also insist that she get a mailbox, but she does not accept it. When people come to her house to talk to her, she turns them away.

Please answer this correctly
STALIN [3.7K]

Answer:I believe the answer is likewise

Explanation:

First, does not make sense, If you read the sentence and put the word's into the sentence it just doesn't make sense.

On the other hand. It could make sense, if the following actions weren't so similar. On the other hand would've worked if Ernest left Paris for America, because then the two wouldn't be ending up in the same place therefore concluding it not to be similar.

Likewise, to me, makes the most sense, because the passage implies that the two people end up in the same place which being Paris.

Please forgive me if I am wrong, I only mean to give advice to try and help. Thanks!
