Answer: Tempeture, air pressure, centripetal acceleration and Earth rotation.
Temperature: Warm air and cold air have different density. As warm air is less dense than cold air, it rides up and over the cold air causing winds.
Air Pressure: At the Earth's surface, wind blows horizontally from high pressure to low pressure areas. Wind is faster in bigger pressure differences.
Centripetal Acceleration: air speed is influenced by centripital acceleration this way, the direction of wind in the center of the circulation is also influenced. Cyclones, for example, are a association of centripital acceleration and air pressure differences.
Earth's Rotation: Wind direction chance can be caused by the rotation of Earth on its axis. The Coriolis effect, easterlies are examples of the influence of the earth’s rotation on Wind.

Three main factors came together to cause Hurricane Sandy:
1. A huge storm with winds gusting up to 90 mph (145 kph) was set to make landfall somewhere on the East Coast that Monday night.
2. But a storm like Sandy would normally be losing steam by now as it moved into colder, less energetic waters. In this case, however, a trough of low pressure dipping down from the Arctic was feeding the hurricane, actually strengthening its intensity as it moves northward. (Higher tides because of a full moon may also increase flooding from the storm.)
3. The third weather factor feeding Sandy, a high-pressure system, was pushing the hurricane onshore.
There is some debate about whether climate change had anything to do with Hurricane Sandy and those like it that have behaved unusually but the research is inconclusive.
Hope this helps.

Northern Africa was home to many religions before the Islam came. There were lot of pagan religions, Christians, and Jews. This all rapidly changed though with the introduction of Islam.
The Islam came with the Arab conquerors. The Arabs were all united with the new religion, while Northern Africa was in a mess and there was not major force in the region. The Arabs used this and attacked, managing to conquer this region with relative ease.
Once the Arabs conquered Northern Africa, they immediately the Islam as the official religion, and there was no tolerance toward the other religions. The people in Northern Africa were forcefully converted to Islam, lot of them killed because they didn't wanted to convert, were persecuted, or taken as slaves. On top of it, lot of Arabs migrated into the region, so Northern Africa quickly became Islamic region and the other religions were almost totally eradicated.
