Solve the quadratic equation: 3x^2+x-5=0

Mathematics
1 answer:

4 0

3x²+x-5=0

a = 3, b = 1, c= -5

-> ∆ ( delta ) = b²-4ac = 61 > 0

-> x1 =( -b+√∆ )÷ 2a =...

x2 = (-b-√∆)÷2a =...

p/s: do your teachers teach you how to use ∆ ( delta ) in maths calculation ? i live in europe and our teachers teach us that way. however, it is a rịght and fast way. you should learn it.

How many solutions does the equation have?
SSSSS [86.1K]
Let's solve and find out.

4(2n - 4) + 3 = 8n - 19
8n - 16 + 3 = 8n - 19
8n - 13 = 8n - 19
-13 = -19

-13 and -19 are not equal, so the equation has no solutions.

A grocer stacks oranges in a four-sided pyramid that is 7 layers high. How many oranges are in the pile?
gayaneshka [121]
Short Answer D
P(1) = 1(1+1)(2*1 + 1)/6
P(1) = 1(2)(2 +1) / 6
P(1) = 1(2)(3)/6
P(1) = 1

P(2) = 2(2+1)(2*2 + 1) / 6
P(2) = 2(3)(5) / 6
P(2) = 5 So this formula is adding as it goes along. To Find the Total all we need do is use the formula to calculate P(1) to P(7)

P(7) = 7*(7 + 1)(2*7 + 1)/6
P(7) = 7 * 8 * 15 / 6
P(7) = 7 * 4 * 5
P(7) = 140 <<<< Answer

Answer:

A rectangular prism in which BA = 20 and h = 6 has a volume of 120 units3; therefore, Shannon is correct

Step-by-step explanation:

step 1

Find the area of the base of the rectangular pyramid

we know that

The volume of the rectangular pyramid is equal to

V=\frac{1}{3}BH

where

B is the area of the base

H is the height of the pyramid

we have

V=40\ units^{3}

H=6\ units

substitute and solve for B

40=\frac{1}{3}B(6)

120=B(6)

B=120/6=20\ units^{2}

step 2

Find the volume of the rectangular prism with the same base area and height

we know that

The volume of the rectangular prism is equal to

V=BH

we have

B=20\ units^{2}

H=6\ units

substitute

V=(20)(6)=120\ units^{3}

therefore

The rectangular prism has a volume that is three times the size of the given rectangular pyramid. Shannon is correct
