Answer:

The linear equation is:

B(d) = 9500 - 165d

Step-by-step explanation:

Linear function:

A linear function has the following format:

y = mx + b

In which m is the slope(how much y changes when x changes by 1) and b is the y-intercept(value of y when x = 0).

A company has an inventory of books that is decreasing at a constant rate. Write a linear equation for B in terms of d.

This means that the situation is modeled by a linear function in the following format:

B(d) = B(0) + md

After selling the book for 4 days, they have 8.840 books in stock and after selling it for 10 days they have 7,850 books in stock.

This means that B(4) = 8840, B(10) = 7850

Finding the slope:

The slope, having two points, is given by the change in the output(in this case B) divided by the change in the input(in this case d).

We have the points

(4,8840) -> When d = 4, B = 8840

(10,7850) -> When d = 10, B = 7850

Change in B: 7850 - 8840 = -990

Change in d: 10 - 4 = 6

Slope: m = \frac{-990}{6} = -165

So

B(d) = B(0) - 165d

(10,7850) -> When d = 10, B = 7850

We use this to find B(0). So

B(d) = B(0) - 165d

7850 = B(0) - 165*10

B(0) = 9500

The linear equation is:

B(d) = 9500 - 165d

2-[6÷2+{6×1/2+(7/2-3/2)}]
professor190 [17]

Answer:

-6

Step-by-step explanation:

2 - [6 ÷ 2 + {6 × 1/2 + (7/2 - 3/2)}] =

Follow the correct order of operations.

Do one step at a time and copy everything else each time, so you don't lose track of any operation.

= 2 - [6 ÷ 2 + {6 × 1/2 + 4/2}]

= 2 - [6 ÷ 2 + {6 × 1/2 + 2}]

= 2 - [6 ÷ 2 + {3 + 2}]

= 2 - [6 ÷ 2 + 5]

= 2 - [3 + 5]

= 2 - 8

= -6

which of the following is an experiment,? A. Rolling a pair die. B.Rolling two pair dice twice. C.Tossing a coin. D.None of thes
sergejj [24]

Step-by-step explanation:

Hint : we will check for each option whether it is an experiment or not by using the concepts of probability first we will check then if a coin is tossed then it is an experiment or not ? then we will check that if a dice is rolled is it an experiment or not and then we will repeat the same process for choosing a marble from a jar

complete step by step answer and event is a set of outcomes of an experiment to which probability is assigned as take an example when we and I the possibility of 5 appearing on the die is an event if for tossing a coin we do not know the result when a coin is tossed in can give any result whether it will be a head or tails so this is an example for a random experiment if a six-sided dice will be rolled then we do not know what is about to come there result can be anything from 126 so it is also an example for random experiment choosing a marble from a jar is also an experiment because we are choosing one marble from the jar and experiment is a work in which a result can be anything hence option d is the correct option not probability is how likely something is about to happen when a coin is tossed there are two possibility outcomes heads or tails show the probability of an outcome 1

( number of ways it can happen )÷

( total number of outcomes)

so when a coin is tossed the total number of outcomes are to solve the probability of a current head is 1/2

Milton makes trail mix for his hiking group he makes a 1 and 1/4 pound of peanuts 14 oz of raisins 12 oz of walnuts in 10 oz of
strojnjashka [21]

Answer:

Each hiker receives 7 ounces of trail mix

Step-by-step explanation:

Trail mix=quantity of peanuts+quantity of raisins+quantity of walnuts+quantity of chocolate chips

where;

Quantity of peanuts=1.25 pounds

Quantity of raisins=14 oz, since 1 pound=16 oz.

Quantity of raisins=(14/16)=0.875 pounds

Quantity of walnuts=12 oz=(12/16)=0.75 pounds

Quantity of chocolate chips=10 oz=(10/16)=0.625 pounds

Replacing;

Trail mix=(1.25+0.875+0.75+0.625)=3.5 pounds

Trail mix=Quantity per hiker×Number of hikers

where;

Trail mix=3.5 pounds

Quantity per hiker=q

Number of hikers=8

Replacing;

3.5=q×8

q=3.5/8=0.4375 pounds

I pound=16 ounces

q=0.4375×16=7 ounces

Each hiker receives 7 ounces of trail mix
