How do i solve this? <br><br> 7 &lt; 3 - 2x<br><br><br> It's linear inequalities
Natasha2012 [34]

Hello from MrBillDoesMath!

Answer:

x < -2

Discussion:

7 < 3 - 2x                       => Add 2x to both sides

7 + 2x < 3 - (2x - 2x)     =>  As 2x -2x = 0

7 + 2x < 3                      =>  Subtract  7 from both sides

(7-7) +  2x < 3 - 7           => As 7-7 = 0 and 3-7 = -4

2x < -4                           => Divide both sides by 2

x < -4./2 = -2

Thank you,

MrB

The quarterback of a football team releases a pass at a height of 6 feet above the playing field, and the football is caught by
motikmotik

Answer:

t = 25.1seconds

Step-by-step explanation:

X(t)= 16cos75°t

Y(t)= 6 + (Vosin75°t - 16t^2)

Converting 78 yards to feet :

1 yard = 3 feet

78feet =?

78×3=234 feet

Y(t)= number of feet above the ground at t seconds

VoCos75° t = 234

t = 234/(VoCos75°)

At this time,4 = y(234/VoCos75°)

4 = 6 + VoSin75°(234/VoCos75) - 16(234/VoCos75°)^2

Vo= 140.66ft/s

Time,t= 234/(140.66× Cos75°)

t = 25.087seconds

t= 25.1 seconds (1 decimal place)

I REALLY NEED HELP PLEASE!!
disa [49]

part A)

\bf \begin{array}{ccllll}&#10;hours(x)&velocity(y)\\&#10;-----&-----\\&#10;1&6\\&#10;3&2&#10;\end{array}\\\\&#10;-------------------------------\\\\

\bf \begin{array}{lllll}&#10;&x_1&y_1&x_2&y_2\\&#10;%   (a,b)&#10;&({{ 1}}\quad ,&{{ 6}})\quad &#10;%   (c,d)&#10;&({{ 3}}\quad ,&{{ 2}})&#10;\end{array}&#10;\\\\\\&#10;% slope  = m&#10;slope = {{ m}}= \cfrac{rise}{run} \implies &#10;\cfrac{{{ y_2}}-{{ y_1}}}{{{ x_2}}-{{ x_1}}}\implies \cfrac{2-6}{3-1}\implies \cfrac{-4}{2}\implies -2

\bf y-{{ y_1}}={{ m}}(x-{{ x_1}})\implies y-6=-2(x-1)\\&#10;\left. \qquad   \right. \uparrow\\&#10;\textit{point-slope form}&#10;\\\\\\&#10;y-6=-2x+2\implies y=-2x+2+6\implies \boxed{y=-2x+8}

part B)

well, we know y = -2x+8.... so.. what's the runner's velocity after 5hours? well, x = 5, thus y = -2(5) +8 ---> y = -2

to graph it, well, is a LINEar equation, meaning the graph is a LINE, and to graph a line, all you need is two points, and by now, you have more than two.. so graph it away.
