What are the disadvantages of traffic rules ( this is for a debate btw)

pls tell fast
boyakko [2]

Answer:

Not being able to floor it in a school zone (jk)

Explanation:

Excessive Traffic Delays

While they do help manage the flow of vehicular traffic, one of the other disadvantages of traffic signals is that they can cause traffic delay. Waiting for a traffic light to turn green or waiting for a car in a turn lane to safely cross an intersection can result in long wait periods. Excessive delays can translate to wasted fuel, air pollution and costs to motorists. These are often hidden costs that aren't always apparent to drivers.

Cost of Traffic Signals

One of the other disadvantages of traffic signals is the cost, especially when a less expensive stop sign will do. The cost of installing and maintaining a traffic signal varies, depending on the state. In Missouri, it costs between $100,000 and $150,000 to install and about $4,000 a year to maintain a traffic signal. In Washington, it costs between $250,000 and $500,000 to purchase and install a signal and about $8,000 a year to maintain. A basic stop sign, on the other hand, can average around $400 to manufacture and install. Maintenance costs of a stop sign are significantly lower than a signal, since there is no electrical system to maintain. When they make sense to install, stop signs may be a more viable alternative for keeping city costs down.

Traffic engineers consider the advantages and disadvantages of traffic signals when determining whether to install them. Once they are installed, signals are monitored and adjusted on an ongoing basis to make sure they are as beneficial as possible. If it turns out they are doing more harm then good, the installation of a traffic signal will be reevaluated to make sure it's the best way to go.

Define the 24th Amendment
Verizon [17]

Answer: The 24th Amendment ended the poll tax.The 24th amendment was proposed on August 27, 1962, and passed on January 23, 1964. The congress has the power to enforce this article. Not long ago, citizens in some states had to pay a fee to vote in an election. This money was called a poll tax. The 24th amendment was important to the Civil Rights Movement as it ended mandatory poll taxes that prevented many African Americans. Poll taxes, , effectively prevented African Americans from having any sort of political power, but greatly in the South. When the 24th amendment passed, five southern states, Virginia, Alabama, Texas, Arkansas, and Mississippi still had poll taxes.

On January 23, 1964, the U.S. ratified the 24th Amendment to the Constitution, prohibiting any poll tax in elections for officials. The Congress has the power to enforce this article by appropriate legislation. If a citizen does not have enough money to pay poll tax to vote, it would be unconstitutional to not let those people vote.

The communistic economic system encourages private investment, competition, and profit
KiRa [710]
This is not true. The capitalist, free-market economic system encourages private investment, competition, and profit. This is also the main difference point between capitalism and communism. Communism is more aligned with the idea of sharing equaly and creating an egalitarian society rather than encouraging private investment, competition, and profit.

noname [10]

Answer:

In a study of Welsh pedestrians, women rated a man as more attractive if he was pictured at the wheel of an expensive rather than an inexpensive car. Men rated a woman as no more attractive if she was pictured at the wheel of an expensive rather than an inexpensive car.

Explanation:

According to the British journal of psychology, female participants of the study rated men in expensive cars as "more attractive" than men in cheaper cars. Meanwhile, men were more concerned with physical appearance rather than with the kind of car women drive when it came to rating.
