Personification is attributing human characteristics to something that is not human.  For example, when you walk outside on a nice, warm sunning day, one might say, "The sun is smiling at us."  That is personification.  Look through your answers.  Which one takes a object that is not human but makes it do something that is human?  "The dishwasher moaned and groaned as it went through its cycle."
