Divide 21 by 8. and then whatever the reminder comes will go as the whole number
and the reminder will be the numerator and the number 8 will be the denominator.
the answer is 2 5/8
<span>2 is the whole number, 5 is the numerator and 8 is the denominator

Hope this helps!</span>

Well, all you would have to do is divide 21 into 8, (21 divided by 8), and the remainder will become your new numerator, and the divisor, (8), will be your denominator, and the whole answer will be your whole number, so your mixed number will be 2 5/8, because 21 divided by 8 = 2, 2 times 8 = 16, 21 - 16 = 5, 2 is your whole number, 5 is your numerator, and 8 is your divisor. =)
I hope I helped! =D

3x+9y=75<br>8x+5y=67 <br>what is x and y?
slava [35]

There are many ways to solve simultaneous linear equations. One of my favorite for finding integer solutions is graphing. The attached graph shows the solution to be ...

... (x, y) = (4, 7)

_____

You can also use Cramer's Rule, or the Vedic math variation of it, which tells you the solution to

ax+by=c\\dx+ey=f

is given by

x=\dfrac{bf-ec}{\Delta}\\\\y=\dfrac{cd-fa}{\Delta}\qquad\text{where $\Delta=bd-ea$}

Here, that means

... x = (9·67-5·75)/(9·8-5·3) = 228/57 = 4

... y = (75·8-67·3)/57 = 399/57 = 7

_____

A (graphing) calculator greatly facilitates either of these approaches.

Find the domain of the function algebraically:<br><br> <img src="https://tex.z-dn.net/?f=R%28x%29%3D%5Cfrac%7Bx%7D%7Bx%5E%7B2%7D
BigorU [14]

The domain of the function is all real numbers except 2 and -1

Step-by-step explanation:

Domain is the set of inputs of a function on which the function is defined.

Given function is:

R(x) = \frac{x}{x^2-x-2}

In case of a function involving fraction, the function is undefined if the denominator is zero so in order to find the domain of the function algebraically , we have to find the values on which the function will be undefined

x^2-x-2 = 0\\x^2-2x+x-2 = 0\\x(x-2)+1(x-2) = 0\\(x+1)(x-2) = 0\\x+1 = 0 => x=-1\\x-2=0 = > x=2

The function will be undefined on x=-1 and x=2

So,

The domain of the function is all real numbers except 2 and -1

The distance between the points (1,2) and (x,-1) is 5 units. Find the possible values of x
Mariulka [41]

Answer:

-3,5

Step-by-step explanation:

d =  \sqrt{(x _{2}  - x _1)  {}^{2} + (y _{2} - y _{1} {} ) {}^{2}  }

5 =  \sqrt{(x - 1) {}^{2} + ( - 1 - 2) {}^{2}  }

5 =  \sqrt{(x - 1) {}^{2} + ( - 3) {}^{2}  }

25 = (x - 1) {}^{2}  + 9

16 = (x - 1) {}^{2}

4 = x - 1

x = 5

Or

- 4 = x - 1

x =  - 3
