In the movie Rocky IV, Apollo Creed was enthusiastic about the fight with Ivan Drago. Rocky IV supposedly took place in 1985 which the Cold War was still going on. Therefore, since Ivan Drago was Russian and a great fighter, Apollo Creed wanted to represent the United States and prove himself to the American people. This was reflected in his entrance as he dawned the colors of the American flag and entered the arena to the song "Living in America" by James Brown.
