One possible way of averting anxiety suggested has been through meditation. In this activity, you will be watching two videos ab

out meditation. Directions: Watch both videos and be prepared to answer the question "Does Meditation Really Work?" Write an academic paragraph that includes your claim, at least 2 pieces of evidence from either video and your analysis of how the evidence supports your claim.
An academic paragraph is, essentially, an eight-sentence Schaffer paragraph.
Here's how to do the paragraph:
Topic sentence: Meditation really does work, enabling people to feel more relaxed and less anxious and sleep better, too.
Concrete detail/Evidence: A fact/quote (if possible) from one of the videos that supports your topic sentence.
Commentary/Analysis: What do you think about that fact/quote?
Commentary/Analysis: Explain more about that fact/quote.
Concrete detail/Evidence: Another fact/quote from a video to support your topic sentence.
Commentary/Analysis: Discuss, analyze, explain why this is true.
Commentary/Analysis: More opinion, analysis, explanation why this is true.
Conclusion sentence: Wrap up the paragraph. Restate what you already wrote.

If stress has you anxious, tense and worried, consider trying meditation. Spending even a few minutes in meditation can restore your calm and inner peace.

Anyone can practice meditation. It's simple and inexpensive, and it doesn't require any special equipment.

And you can practice meditation wherever you are — whether you're out for a walk, riding the bus, waiting at the doctor's office or even in the middle of a difficult business meeting.
