The excretory system allows animals to remove metabolic waste their bodies. Many of these substances are potentially toxic. in Mammals nitrogenous toxins like urea are expelled through liquid urine while in reptiles and birds the nitrogenous compounds are expelled as a solid. This allows birds and reptiles to use less water in the processes of metabolism.
Virus: an infective agent that typically consists of a nucleic acid molecule in a protein coat, is too small to be seen by light microscopy, and is able to multiply only within the living cells of a host.
Bacteria: a member of a large group of unicellular microorganisms which have cell walls but lack organelles and an organized nucleus, including some which can cause disease.
Fungi/fungus: any of a group of spore-producing organisms feeding on organic matter, including molds, yeast, mushrooms, and toadstools.
Protozoa: a phylum or group of phyla that comprises the single-celled microscopic animals, which include amoebas, flagellates, ciliates, sporozoans, and many other forms. They are now usually treated as a number of phyla belonging to the kingdom Protista.
Step 1: Copy of one side of DNA strand is made (called mRNA, messenger RNA)
step 2: mRNA moves to cytoplasm, then ribosome
step 3: mRNA goes through ribosome 3 bases at a time
step 4: transfer RNA (tRNA) matches up with the open DNA bases
step 5: tRNA releases the amino acid at the top, which joins the chain of amino acids being produced
