Answer:

It was very horrible. They had back breaking work to do and couldn't relax. They were pushed to limits. Most of the time the slaves died of overworking. Sometimes they died of injuries sustained by working of by their owners who hit them for not working enough. When slaves were sold they were most of the time separated from their families. It was pretty horrible.
