<span>A contribution of the French Revolution to English thought was the idea and goal of equality for all.
The English didn't really follow Napoleon's personal ideas about empire, but what they did take from the French Revolution is the idea that they should all be equal, that there shouldn't be a particular social stratum which is above everyone else (the way it used to be). That's why they also rebelled, spurred by the French, in order to get their own rights.
