Elise did the problem wrong. She needed to find out the kids surveyed total. Her answer was a smaller number than the number of kids that liked math the most.

i’m not so good at explaining things :/

Error Analysis:

The mistake Elise of multiplying the revealed part (over whole) by the percentage given. She calculated 25% of the math students surveyed rather than finding the students in whole.

Correct Work:

20 students / .25 = 80 students surveyed

Or

20 students * 4 = 80 students surveyed.

solve and check: (1)/(x 3) = (x 10)/(x − 2) from least to greatest, the solutions are x = ? and x = ?
SCORPION-xisa [38]
If you would like to solve 1/(x + 3) = (x + 10)/(x - 2), you can do this using the following steps:

1/(x + 3) = (x + 10)/(x - 2)
1 * (x - 2) = (x + 10) * (x + 3)
x - 2 = x^2 + 3x + 10x + 30
0 = x^2 + 13x + 30 - x + 2
0 = x^2 + 12x + 32
0 = (x + 8) * (x + 4)
1. x = -8
2. x = -4

The correct result would be x = -8 and x = -4.

Calculate the slope of the line between the point (-3,2) and (5,0)
Finger [1]

Answer:

The slope of the line is -1/4

Step-by-step explanation:

To find the slope, we use the formula

m = (y2-y1)/(x2-x1)

We have the points (-3,2) and (5,0)

 = (0-2)/(5--3)

 = (-2)/(5+3)

 =-2/8

= -1/4

The slope of the line is -1/4
