Taking into account the statement above: "When Wadongo received his award, he said "The children can lead Africa from…a dark continent, to a light continent." Why does Ryan find his words to be so significant?"

He meant that people who did not have their light could never pass exams, do not let a language divide us and leave us in the dark, intelligence is not measured by how much English people speak.

Hope this helps.

In 1880s, the women's christian temperance movement (wctu) controversially threw its support behind the
xxMikexx [17]

The Women's Christian Temperance Union wanted to make changes in society in the late 1800s and early 1900s. The idea was to get rid of alcohol as many of these people felt that it was morally hurting the society and making people bad individuals. Getting rid of alcohol eventually became the 18th Amendment, which was passed in 1920. A lot of the women in this movement were also supporting women's equality, and some of them also had a strong religious background.

Some people were not in agreement with this group as they did not agree with getting rid of alcohol in society. Some extremists like Cary Nation would go around with her hatchet to saloons, quote Bible scriptures, and then smash alcohol and liquor bottles.

PLEASE HELP!!! How did the Ancient Chinese dynasty and Mesopotamian kings treat their people differently
Alona [7]

Answer:

https://oi.uchicago.edu/research/symposia/religion-and-power-divine-kingship-ancient-world-and-beyond-0

Explanation:

The application of Frazer’s study to the civilizations of the ancient Near East is, however, problematical. His interpretation of sacred kingship was strongly influenced by Christian imagery (Feeley-Harnick 1985). Frazer made a certain form of regicide in which the divine king is sacrificed to ensure continued fertility and prosperity for the community a central element of divine kingship. This form of regicide, however, does not seem to play an important role in all of the societies that exhibit the phenomenon of divinization of the king.

The papacy's potential to play a major role in the colonization of the new world was confirmed by
oksian1 [2.3K]
This was confirmed by the treaty of tortesillas. The treaty was signed in 1494. It had the goal of resolving conflicts between explorers, like Christopher Columbus, and other merchants, over the lands they discovered. The pope got to decide what country got what territory, which showed that the papacy was relevant in the colonization of the new world.
