Answer:

a) Range = 7.7

b) Standard deviation = 2.78

Step-by-step explanation:

Find (a) the range and (b) the standard deviation of the data set 8.2, 10.1, 2.6, 4.8, 2.4,5.6, 7.0,3.3 Round to the nearest hundredth if necessary

We are rearrange the given data:

2.4, 2.6, 3.3, 4.8, 5.6, 7.0, 8.2, 10.1

a) Range

This is calculated as: Highest value - Lowest value

Highest value = 10.1

Lowest value = 2.4

Range = 10.1 - 2.4

= 7.7

b) Standard deviation

Step 1

We find the mean

= Sum of values/ Number of value

= 2.4 + 2.6+ 3.3+ 4.8+ 5.6+7.0+8.2+10.1/8

= 44/8

= 5.5

The formula for standard deviation

= √(x - mean)²/n - 1

= √((2.4 - 5.5)² +( 2.6 - 5.5)²+ (3.3 - 5.5)²+ (4.8-5.5)²+ (5.6 - 5.5)²+(7.0-5.5)² +(8.2 - 5.5)² +(10.1-5.5)2)/8 - 1

= √54.06/7

= √7.722857143

= 2.779002904

approximately = 2.78

Right △EFG has its right angle at F, EG=8 , and FG=2 .
d1i1m1o1n [39]

Answer:

Tan E = 2 / 7.75

Sin G = 7.75 / 8

Sec G = 4

Step-by-step explanation:

Find the attached document for better illustration of the triangle

Assuming the hypothenus of the triangle is 8 = EG since it's the longest side of the triangle.

FG = 2 = opposite side of the triangle.

We can use pythagorean theorem to find the adjacent of the triangle since we already know two sides.

EG² = FG² + EF²

EF² = EG² - FG²

EF² = 8² - 2²

EF² = 64 - 4

EF² = 60

EF = √(60)

EF = 7.7459 = 7.75

To find the respective trignometric ratio, we can use the relation SOH CAH TOA

Sine = opposite / hypothenus

Cosine = adjacent/ hypothenus

Tangent = opposite/ adjacent

A. tan E

Tan E = opposite/ adjacent

Tan E = 2 / 7.75

Tan E = 0.2580

B. Sin G = opposite / hypothenus

Sin G = 7.75 / 8

Sin G = 0.9687

C. Sec G = 1 / cos G

Cos G = adjacent / hypothenus

Sec G = 1 / (adjacent / hypothenus)

Sec G = hypothenus/ adjacent

Sec G = 8 / 2

Sec G = 4
