Kisachek [45]

Answer: about 66.6% that he will not pick a PB one

Step-by-step explanation: Put both of them together and you get 15. 15 divede by 3 is 5. Two 5's is 10, which is about nine, so it would be 2/3 chance of getting an oatmeal cookie, which is the opposite of getting a pb one, 2/3 in a percentage is 66.6%

Penelope made note of all the bicycles and cars she could see parked or locked on acertain city block. All the cars had exactly
lesantik [10]

Given:

The number of cycles is, <em>n</em> (s) = 7.

The number of wheels in the cycle is, <em>n </em>(sw) = 2.

The number of cars is, <em>n</em> (c) = 15.

The number of wheels in the car is, <em>n</em> (cw) = 4.

The obective is to find the total number of wheels.

The total number of wheels is,

\begin{gathered} T=n(sw)\cdot n(s)+n(cw)\cdot n(c) \\ =2\cdot7+4\cdot15 \\ =14+60 \\ =74\text{ whe}els \end{gathered}

Hence, there are 74 wheels in the block.

If there are <em>x</em> bicycles and <em>y </em>cars, the equatioin will be,

\begin{gathered} T=n(sw)\cdot x+n(ce)\cdot15 \\ T=2x+4x \end{gathered}

Hence, the number of wheels for x bicycles and y cars is 2x+4x.

1.What is the equation of the line perpendicular to  that passes through ? Write your answer in slope-intercept form. Show your
Juliette [100K]

Answer:

1. Use a compass to make arc marks which intersect above and below then connect.

2. y=\frac{1}{3}x + 2

Step-by-step explanation:

1. To construct a perpendicular line, use a compass to draw arc marks from one end of the segment through point P. Then repeat this again at the other end. This means at point P there will be two intersecting arc marks. Repeat the process down below with the same radius as used above. Then connect the two intersections.

2. The point slope form of a line is (y-y_1)=m(x-x_1) where x_1=-3\\y_1=1. We write

(y-1)=m(x--3)\\(y-1)=m(x+3)

Since the line is to be perpendicular to the line shown it will have the negative reciprocal to the slope of the function 3x+y =-8. To find m, rearrange the function to be y=-8-3x. The slope is -3 and the negative reciprocal will be 1/3.

(y-1)=\frac{1}{3}(x+3)

Simplify for slope intercept form.

(y-1)=\frac{1}{3}(x+3)\\(y-1)=\frac{1}{3}x+1\\y=\frac{1}{3}x + 2
