Answer:

TEMPOROMANDIBULAR JOINTS

Explanation:

The breaking up of food into smaller particles through the combined action of the teeth, muscles and joints is called MASTICATION. This helps to increase the surface area of food to make the enzyme activity easier during digestion.

A joint is a place where two or more bones meet or articulate.The joint involved in mastication( chewing) is called the TEMPOROMANDIBULAR JOINTS (TMJ). This joint is formed by the articulation of the mandible and the temporal bone of the skull.

Structurally TMJ is classified a s a synovial joint because it possesses articular cartilage on the bone surfaces, and a joint capsule that encloses synovial fluid. While functionally TMJ is classified as diarthrosis joint because it can move freely in different planes.

It's synovial classification it is known as a condyloid joint because it consist of an oval-shaped end of one bone fitting into a similarly oval-shaped hollow of another bone to allow angular movement along two axes. This enables it to have the following different movement:

--> mandibular depression,

--> elevation,

--> lateral deviation (which occurs to both the right and left sides),

-->retrusion and protrusion.

The articulating bones that forms the joint include the mandible and the temporal bone

The TMJ participates in mastication by allowing the movement of the mandible while the temporal bone remains in place

Describe some of the modifications that polypeptide chains undergo before becoming functional proteins
umka2103 [35]
Polypeptide chains undergo some modifications before they become fully functional. Some of these modifications include: proteolytic cleavage, lipidation and glycosylation. Proteolytic cleavage refers to the removal of some amino acids from a polypeptide chain by proteases in order for the protein to become active. An example of a substance that is modified through this process is insulin.

the Effects of Branchial Chloride Cell Proliferation on Respiratory Function in the Rainbow Trout Oncorhynchus Mykiss
gavmur [86]

Thickening of gill epithelia in rainbow trout, caused by chloride cell proliferation, could lead to an impairment of oxygen uptake under moderate to severe hypoxia (Thomas et al 1988; Bindon et al., 1994; Greco et al., 1995).

What results in an increase in AMS in interstitial lung disease?

The number of alveolar macrophages (AMs) can rise in interstitial lung disease. Precursor cells from the peripheral circulation may have been drawn in, and/or there may have been local lung growth, to create this.

What connection does sarcoidosis have between lymphocytes and proliferating cells?

Additionally, a strong association between the quantities of lymphocytes and proliferative cells in sarcoidosis and fibrosis was discovered in bronchoalveolar lavage (BAL). Eosinophil counts and proliferating cell counts were positively associated in fibrosis.

How do AMS patients and healthy controls differ in terms of propagating AMS?

With a substantial association between these two indices, there was a considerable increase in proliferating AMs in all patient groups when compared to healthy controls (4.2 versus 1.4% Feulgen, and 2.1 against 0.5% Ki67).
