Who is William B. Travis writing his letter to? Why do you think he addressed it in this way?
lapo4ka [179]

Answer:

William Barret "Buck" Travis (August 1, 1809 – March 6, 1836) was a 19th-century American lawyer and soldier. At the age of 26, he was a lieutenant colonel in the Texas Army. He died at the Battle of the Alamo during the Texas Revolution.

Travis turned to another Gonzales Ranger, Captain Albert Martin, to carry his most famous letter, penned on February 24, from the Alamo. Martin handed the letter off to one Lancelot Smither, and both men added postscripts to the missive including estimates of Mexican troop strength.

The purpose that Otto Lais mentions the number of bullet rounds used at the Battle of the Somme was to convey D. a sense of patriotism.

Otto Lais was a German machine gunner. He wrote the un-dated memoir to recount his Somme experiences on July 1, 1916, the first day of the war.

Thus, the memoir does not show Otto's disgust for war or hatred of the British. The document does not convey that the number of bullets fired was extraordinarily large, but the memoir shows Otto's sense of patriotism.
