If you have 6 periods per day at school and math is 1 of them, what percentage of your school day is spent in math?
Alenkasestr [34]

Answer:

16.67% of your day is spent in math class.

Step-by-step explanation:

The total would be 100% and then since you have 6 periods we divide 100 by 6 to get 16.67%. So 16.67% of your day is spent in math class.

Enter your answer and show all the steps that you use to solve this problem in the space provided.

Answer:

\boxed{f(x) - g(x) = 2x(2x^{2} + x + 1)}

Step-by-step explanation:

f(x) = 9x³ + 2x² - 5x + 4; g(x)=5x³ -7x + 4

Step 1. Calculate the difference between the functions

(a) Write the two functions, one above the other, in decreasing order of exponents.

ƒ(x) = 9x³ + 2x² - 5x + 4

g(x) = 5x³           - 7x + 4

(b) Create a subtraction problem using the two functions

        ƒ(x) =    9x³ + 2x² - 5x + 4

      -g(x) =  -(5x³           - 7x + 4)

ƒ(x) -g(x)=

(c). Subtract terms with the same exponent of x

        ƒ(x)   =    9x³ + 2x² - 5x + 4

      -g(x)  =   -(5x³          -  7x + 4)

ƒ(x) -g(x) =      4x³ + 2x² + 2x

Step 2. Factor the expression

y = 4x³ + 2x² + 2x

Factor 2x from each term

y = 2x(2x² + x + 1)

\boxed{f(x) - g(x) = 2x(2x^{2} + x + 1)}

Help on this question please!

Since every figure repr. an equil. triangle, each of the angles shown is 60 deg.
Thus, the height of one of the shaded triangles is s sin 60 deg, or s/sqrt(3).
The base of one such triangle is s/3.

Thus, the area of ONE shaded triangle is A = bh/2, which here is
        (s/3)(s/sqrt(3) )            (s/3)(s)
A = ----------------------- = --------------------
                   2                          2sqrt(3)

Rationalize the denom.: Mult numerator and denominator both by sqrt(3), and then mult the resulting numerator and den by 3:

sqrt(3)       s^2/3          s^2*sqrt(3)      s^2*sqrt(3)
----------- * ----------- = ----------------- = ----------------
sqrt(3)      2sqrt(3)       3*2*3                   18

Unfortunately, this does not agree with any of the four answer choices.

Let's take a slightly different approach here:

Each (horizontal) base of each shaded triangle has length s/3. Each has height (s/3)sin(60 deg) = s*sqrt(3)/(3*2) = s*sqrt(3)/6.

                                                                             [s/3]*[s*sqrt(3)]/6
Then each shaded triangle has area A = bh/2 = ----------------------------
                                                                                          2

and the total shaded area is three times that:

                      s^2 * sqrt(3)        s^2*sqrt(3)
Total area = -------------------- = ------------------    (answer)
                         3*2  * 6                    36
