Answer:

The key factors in mounting an immune response include antibodies, macrophages, and lymphocytes. So, the answer is red blood cells [D]. The immune response consists of recognizing and protecting the human body against bacteria, viruses, and damaging substances. The immune system is responding to antigens (the surface of cells, viruses, bacteria or fungi with substances such as proteins). Antigens substances are identified and destroyed by the immune system itself.

Further Explanation:

The immune response involves several distinct groups of cells, they are:

• Granulocytes

Granulocytes are a family of white blood cells in their cytoplasm that contains granules. It consists of Neutrophils, Eosinophils, and Basophils.

• Monocytes + Macrophages

Monocytes + Macrophages are the large cells engaged in Phagocytosis and Antigens presentation. There are Blood Monocytes, Tissue Macrophages, and Dendritic Cells.

• Lymphocytes

Lymphocytes are small white blood cells with big kernels and having no granules. It has three main subtypes, like natural killer (NK) cells, T cells, and B cells,

An effective immune response protects from many illnesses and conditions. However, an inefficient immune response can lead to the development of illnesses. The immune system disorders are caused by too much, too little or by the incorrect immune response.
