Olivia is preparing many gifts for a family holiday party. Each gift must either be wrapped with wrapping paper or prepared in a

gift bag. Olivia can wrap a single gift in 3 minutes and she can do a giftbag in 1.5 minutes. Olivia prepared a total 14 gifts in 30 minutes. Graphically solve a system of equations in order to determine the number of gifts Olivia wrapped, x,x, and the number of giftbags she prepared, yy.

Answer:

Olivia wrapped 6 gifts and prepared 8 giftbags.

Step-by-step explanation:

Write System of Equations:

3x+1.5y= 30                                                 x+y=14

x+y=  14                                                       y=-x+14

3x+1.5y=30

1.5y=3x+30

1.5y divided by 1.5 is y

-3x+30 divided by y is -2x+20

y=-2x+20

pls help for 15 points asap Phil traveled with his family by car. They started their trip from Lexington to Louisville, driving
victus00 [196]

Given that Phil traveled with his family by car. They started their trip from Lexington to Louisville, driving directly west for 60 miles.

So AB=60

They then turned North, driving to Indianapolis which is 100 miles from Lexington.

So AC=100

Then, they turned to the West again, and drove to Decatur which which is 170 straight miles from Louisville.

so BD=170

Now we have to find about how many miles did they cover in total driving from Lexington to Decatur.

That means we have to find length of (AB+BC+CD)

We can use Pythogorean theorem to find the values of BC and CD.

BC=\sqrt{AC^2-AB^2}=\sqrt{100^2-60^2}=\sqrt{10000-3600}=\sqrt{6400}=80

CD=\sqrt{BD^2-BC^2}=\sqrt{170^2-80^2}=\sqrt{28900-6400}=\sqrt{22500}=150

then (AB+BC+CD)=60+80+150= 290

Hence final answer is miles.

Ello can you solve #14 ty
Andre45 [30]

Answer:

  (x, y, z) ≈ (30.375, 12.369, 13.915)

Step-by-step explanation:

You can make use of the fact that all of these right triangles are similar. That mean the ratio of the hypotenuse to the long side is the same for each of them.

  27/24 = x/27

  x = 27²/24 = 30.375 . . . . . . multiply by 27

__

Likewise, the ratio of short side to long side is the same for each:

  y/24 = (30.375 -24)/y

  y² = 24(6.375)

  y = √153 ≈ 12.369

__

And the ratio of short side to hypotenuse is the same:

  z/30.375 = 6.375/z

  z² = 30.375×6.375 = 193.640625

  z = √193.640625 ≈ 13.915
