According to Pythagorean theorem,

Δ  (Hypotenuse)² = (1st Leg)² + (2nd Leg)²

⇒  (x + 8)² = x² + 12²

⇒  x² + 64 + 16x = x² + 144

⇒  16x = 80

⇒ x = 5

Hypotenuse = (x + 8) = (5 + 8) = 13

1st Leg = 5

2nd Leg = 12

We know that : Perimeter is the Sum of all sides of the Triangle

⇒  Perimeter = Hypotenuse + 1st Leg + 2nd Leg

⇒  Perimeter = 13 + 5 + 12

⇒  Perimeter = 30

We know that :

\bigstar \ \ \boxed{\sf{\textsf{Area of a Triangle is given by} : \dfrac{1}{2} \times Base \times Height}}

Base = 1st Leg

Height = 2nd Leg

\implies \sf{\textsf{Area of the Triangle} = \dfrac{1}{2} \times 5 \times 12}

\implies \sf{\textsf{Area of the Triangle} = 30}

Answer:

Perimeter = 30

Area = 30

Step-by-step explanation:

(x+8)^2 -x^2 = 12^2

x^2 +16x +64 - x^2 = 144

16x+64=144

16x = 80

x = 5

Double check:

\sqrt{12^2 + 5^2} = (5+8)\\\sqrt{12^2 + 5^2} = 13\\13 = 13

Perimeter:

12+5+13=30

Area(\frac{1}{2}bh):

\frac{1}{2} × 12 × 5 = 30

Hello from MrBillDoesMath!

Answer:

x = 1/2 (1 +\- i sqrt(23))

Discussion:

x \3x - 2 =   (x/3)*x - 2   =  (x^2)/3 - 2     (*)

1 \3x - 4   =  (1/3)x - 4                               (**)

(*) = (**)   =>

(x^2)/3 -2 = (1/3)x - 4        => multiply both sides by 3

x^2 - 6 = x - 12                 => subtract x from both sides

x^2 -x -6 = -12                   => add 12 to both sides

x^2-x +6  = 0

Using the quadratic formula gives:

x = 1/2 (1 +\- i sqrt(23))

Thank you,

MrB

Can any one please help me with these Math questions soon as possible?
disa [49]

Answer:

the answer to the first question is 9/27, 5/27, 13/27

the answer to the second question is 27/126, 33/126, 20/126, 42/126

the answer to the last question is 32/44

Step-by-step explanation:

they way you solve the fist two questions you just add the numbers up and that will tell you your probability.

for the last question you take the number of players and subtract it by 12 to get the top number

A copper key is placed in a cylindrical container with a 3-cm diameter. The water level rises from 14 cm to 14.6 cm. What is the
Tomtit [17]

Answer:

The volume is about 4.24 cm^3.

Step-by-step explanation:

From the question we are told that:

Diameterd= 3-cm

Radius r=d/2=>1.5cm

Height risen14.6-14=0.6cm

Generally the equation for Volume of a Key is mathematically given by

Since Volume of a cylinder is Given as

V=\pir^2h

Therefore

V=\pi*1.5^2*0.6

V=4.2417\\\\V=4.24 cm^3

Correct Option A

The volume is about 4.24 cm^3.
