Which statement explains the relationship between literary devices and theme?
Flura [38]

Answer:

Litery devised emphesize theme.

Explanation:

Litarery devises are used to emphesize the theme. For example, if I were to use lots of metaphors, I'd potentially be emphasising james (a made up character) is confused and does not know what to take seriously as he does not know what is actually what. This means the theme could be confusion. As metaphors don't really mean what they imply. If a said Sarah was a couch potato, it doesn't mean she's a couch potato, she's just lazy. Using many Litarery devises can be halful to, for example, emphasise the theme. I hope I could have been if some help.

Compare and contrast the Anglo-Saxon culture and values to today’s culture and values.
yan [13]

Answer:

Let us examine the cultural values of the Anglo-Saxons, especially as we can glean them from the epic poem, "Beowulf."

The Anglo-Saxons were then known for their bravery, truthfulness, honor, loyalty/fidelity, discipline and duty, hospital/friendship, perseverance, and industriousness.  The question is, are these cultural values still prevalent today, even among those who claim to be Anglo-Saxons.  The answer is NO.

Today, the cultural values that are prevalent among the Anglo-Saxons are abortion, intrigue, discrimination, infidelity, and profiteering, among others.  The Anglo-Saxons have abandoned truth for shadows.  They marry today and break up their marital vows tomorrow, and remarry unashamedly.  The Anglo-Saxons are now killers of the unborn and defenseless child, without any qualms of conscience.  They even excuse this brutal and inconsiderate murder as the woman's right to freedom.  They have invented condoms without using them.  That is why abortions are still rampant.  The worst is that they want to foist these cultural aberrations on others, willingly and unwillingly.

I think that the majority of Anglo-Saxons today have become self-lovers.  This is why there is high-level hatred, inhospitality towards migrants, and unfriendliness towards others.  Anglo-Saxons are now very dishonorable.  They cannot risk their lives for their neighbors, as Beowulf did.  I can go on and on.

Explanation:

The epic poem titled "Beowulf" offers the best means to learn about the culture and values of the Anglo-Saxons in the past.  This epic poem chronicled the sacrifices made by Beowulf, who travelled from afar to save the lives of the Geats.

Variously, culture has been defined as "a people's way of life."  The guiding principles embedded or practiced in any cultural situation are the cultural values.
