1. The Sharks Aquatic Club recently held a fundraiser to raise money for a local charity. The swimmers received money for each l

ap that they swam during a one-week period. The three swimmers who raised the most money were Rita, John, and Rodell. Together they swam a total of 2125 laps. John swam three times as many laps as Rita, and Rodell swam 25 more laps than John. How many laps did each swimmer swim?

Answer:

Rita = 300

John = 900

Rodell = 925

Step-by-step explanation:

rita = x (let

john = 3x ( john swims three times more than rita

rodell = 25 + 3x ( rodell swims 25 more than john

x + 3x + 25 + 3x = 2125

or, 7x + 25 = 2125

or, 7x = 2125 - 25

or, x = 2100/7

x = 300

hence,

x = 300

3x = 3 × 300

= 900

25 + 3x = 25 + 900

= 925

Find the distance between (0, -5) & (18, -10). Select one:
julia-pushkina [17]
D = sqrt((0-18)^2 + (-5--10)^2)
D= sqrt ((-18)^2 + (5)^2)
D= sqrt( 324 + 25)
D= sqrt ( 349)
D = 18.7

Answer:

(d) is true

Explanation:

Given

Brown = 8

Purple = 7

Required

Which of the options is true

A) P(Brown) = P(Not Brown)

P(Brown) is calculated as:

P(Brown)=\frac{Brown}{Brown + Purple}

P(Brown)=\frac{8}{8+7}

P(Brown)=\frac{8}{15}

P(Not Brown) is calculated as:

P(Not\ Brown) = 1 - P(Brown) --- Complement rule

P(Not\ Brown) = 1 - \frac{8}{15}

Solve

P(Not\ Brown) = \frac{7}{15}

Both are not equal.

Hence, (a) is not true

(b) P(Brown) < P(Not Brown)

In (a) above

P(Brown)=\frac{8}{15}

P(Not\ Brown) = \frac{7}{15}

By comparison;

P(Brown) > P(Not\ Brown)

Because:

8/15 > 7/15

Hence, (b) is not true

(c) P(Not Brown) > P(Brown)

This is the same as (b)

i.e. both conditions represent the same.

Hence, (c) is incorrect

(d) P(Brown) > P(Not Brown)

In (b), we established that

P(Brown) > P(Not\ Brown)

Because:

P(Brown)=\frac{8}{15}

P(Not\ Brown) = \frac{7}{15}

8/15 > 7/15

Hence, (d) is true

Diameter of a circle with a circumference of 55 feet rounded to the nearest hundredth
Ket [755]

Answer:

17.51

Step-by-step explanation:

Notes: Circumference= 2 times pi times r

Diameter is double the radius (2r)

How to solve: You just need to divide 55 feet by pi

2(pi)(r)/( pi) = 55/(pi)

2r = 17.51

diameter = 17.51
