List tim''s symptoms and identify the organ system (or specific organ) associated with those symptoms. (your may need to referen
pantera1 [17]
1. Tim's symptoms include deteriorated coordination, stamina and school performance, nausea, painful joints and an abnormal increase in growth rate. His personality also changed which manifested as depressive mood, introversion, anxiety and tension. These symptoms could indicate an endocrinological problem, therefore the organ system which could be associated with them is the thyroid gland.

2. The thyroid gland is an organ of the endocrine system which is located in the neck, behind Adam's apple. It regulates metabolism, protein synthesis and development. It does so by producing a number of hormones: calcitonin, thyroxine and triiodothyronine. The two thyroid hormones (thyroxine and triiodothyronine) regulate the body's metabolism by controlling the way cells produce and consume energy.

3. Hyperthyroidism is an endocrine condition in which there is an overproduction of thyroid hormones by the thyroid gland. Under these conditions, the thyroid gland proves to be overactive and the main symptom is the acceleration of the metabolism. Tim's sudden increase of growth rate and inability to gain weight, along with his nervousness and mood swings, and his fatigue and loss of energy could indicate a problem of hyperthyroidism.

4. Cortisol is a steroid hormone which is produced by the thyroid gland. It is often called as the "stress hormone" as it is released in response to a stressful situation. It is also released in response to low blood glucose concentration. Some of cortisol's functions are the increase in blood sugar, the suppression of the immune system and bone formation. Cortisol is also involved in the metabolism of macronutrients.

What term is used to describe the relationship of the DNA strands to each other?
xxTIMURxx [149]

Answer:

The correct answer will be option-B.

Explanation:

Deoxyribose nucleic acid or DNA is the genetic material of the organism which is made up of nucleotide monomer. The structure of DNA is made up of two strands of nucleotides coiled in a helical structure thus providing a double-helical shape to the structure.

Each nucleotide of a strand is composed of a five-carbon sugar, phosphate group and nitrogenous bases. These molecules are arranged in anti-parallel fashion in DNA which provides the polarity to the DNA strand. One strand is read from the 5' to 3' direction whereas another form 3'to 5' direction.

Thus, Option-B is the correct answer.

Biofilms are accumulations of many different bacterial species adhering to some form of extracellular matrix. they often form as
lora16 [44]
They often respond to Quorum sensing which is determined by the cell density. Bacteria cells secrete molecules that can be detected by other bacteria, Quorum sensing allows bacteria to sense the concentration of these signalling molecules to monitor the local density of cells. It used by bacteria to coordinate certain behaviors , such as the production of biofilms.

True or False:<br> Repetition Practice interferes with the ability to learn new information
ankoles [38]

Repetition Practice interferes with the ability to learn new information is true.

It is impossible to overstate the value of repetition. In fact, it needs to be emphasized again how important repetition is as a learning tool. It enables the transfer of a conscious skill into the subconscious, freeing up working memory and enabling the acquisition of new skills. Repetition gives kids the practice they need to acquire new skills, so it's a good thing. Repetition helps kids learn faster, builds confidence, and fortifies the neural connections in their brains that support learning. Practice doesn't always make perfect while learning a new skill. Zachariah Reagh and Michael Yassa, neurobiologists at UC Irvine, discovered that while repetition improves the factual content of memories, it can decrease the amount of detail associated with such memories.
