Answer:

First described in 1880 by Pierre and Jacques Curie, piezoelectricity results from pressing or squeezing certain crystals, such as quartz, together, creating an electric charge. Piezoelectric materials can either conduct the charge or store it as a battery.

What two big ideas were not met with compromises that the framers did not agree on and were left out
Tasya [4]

Answer:

The largest disagreement perhaps amongst the framers was the issue of state representation. This issue could not be solved quickly as the creation of a checks and balances system had been. The framers soon found that the larger state delegates wanted to use population numbers to decide how many people would be chosen as delegates for Congress.

Explanation:

Judges are appointed, not elected, because the framers did not want them to focus on outside factors like getting elected.

Mandarinka [93]

Osmoreceptors within the hypothalamus detect and increase in plasma osmolarity. This results in a decrease in ADH release from the posterior pituitary, and hence decrease in water permeability of the collecting duct.

What is osmoregulation?

Osmoregulation is that the active regulation of the osmotic pressure of an organism's body fluids, detected by osmoreceptors, to take care of the homeostasis of the organism's water content; that is, it maintains the fluid balance and therefore the concentration of electrolytes to keep the body fluids from becoming too diluted or concentrated.

The tendency of water to move into one solution from another by osmosis is osmotic pressure. The upper the osmotic pressure of a solution, the more water tends to maneuver into it.

Osmoregulation through kidney :

Pressure must be exerted on the hypertonic side of a selectively permeable membrane to stop diffusion of water by osmosis from the side containing pure water. Although there could also be hourly and daily variations in osmotic balance, an animal is usually in an osmotic steady state over the long term.

Organisms in aquatic and terrestrial environments must maintain the proper concentration of solutes and amount of water in their body fluids; this involves excretion (getting rid of metabolic nitrogen wastes and other substances such as hormones that would be toxic.

Harry decides to do a self-experiment using what he knows about the facial feedback hypothesis: he is going to smile more to see
zaharov [31]

Answer: The James-Lange theory

Explanation: The James-Lange theory argues that emotional reactions felt in human stirs from physical interpretation attached to the physiological (relates to the way or manner in which the bodily parts of an individual functions) response which emanates due to an external or environmental stimulus.

In essence, James-Lange theory proposed by William James and Carl Lange opines that physical interpretation of physiological responses determines emotional reaction.

In the scenario above, Harry wants to use physiological response and physical interpretation attached to facial smile will translate into an emotional state of being happier.
