irga5000 [103]
Annualized consumption dropped immensely in November 2008. The 5 years prior to 2008 were some of our strongest yet, also, a GDP of $14 trillion is nothing to balk at. I am thoroughly surprised that the decline we experienced then came so soon after a long streak of winning.

Some countries share a common currency (e.g., those that participate in the euro), while some other countries peg their currenci
nikklg [1K]

Answer:

The potential of additional regional currencies such as the euro is very important, and for this reason, many economists support the idea. In fact, John Maynard Keynes, one of the most influential economists in history, once proposed not a regional common currency, but a common global currency.

The potential lies in the fact that regional currencies allow to coordinate a common monetary policy in several countries. This common policy means that several countries now have the same interest rates, the same rate of inflation, and the same currency itself, and all these commonalities facilitate the exchange of goods and services.

While the Euro has had drawbacks since its inception, the Euro has survived, and is now one of the strongest curriencies in the world.

If you support the concept, should those currencies be tied to regional economic blocs?

I support the concept, and I agree that they should be tied to regional economic bloc. It would not be very effective to adopt a common currency for countries that are not economically integrated in other areas.

Kara wants to build a business. She has plenty of capital and potential investors and partners. She wants to avoid the burden of
Akimi4 [234]

Answer:

The correct answer is B.

Explanation:

The fact that Kara has plenty of capital means she most likely would not need financial intervention from any other party.

It is not logical for her to bring in a partner who will share profits when she has invested all the capital. Because she will enjoy all the proceeds from the business alone, she will also bear all liabilities.

Cheers!

The interest rate on short-term U.S. government bonds is 4 percent. The risk premium for any asset with a beta = 1.0 is 6 percen
Basile [38]

Answer:

The average expected rate of return on the market portfolio is 10 percent.

Explanation:

The CAPM (fixed asset pricing) model describes the relationship between systematic risk and expected return on assets, especially stocks. CAPM is widely used throughout the financial community to value high-risk securities and achieve the expected returns on assets when taking into account the risk of those assets and the cost of capital.

The formula for calculating the expected return on an asset taking into account its risk is as follows:

ERi = Rf + βi (ERm - Rf)

where:

ERi = expected return on investment

Rf = risk-free interest rate = 4 percent.

βi = beta inversion =1.0

(ERm −Rf) = market risk premium = 6 percent.

ERi = 4 + 1 ×(6) =10

The average expected rate of return on the market portfolio is 10 percent.
