He is angry with the man who took his love, though he does not blame the other for the fall of his love. Phyche, the main character, seeks love. She finds it but does not recognize it, which makes Cupid get upset and leaves. Phyche gets three tasks from her mother Venus, which she has to fill in to get him back. The gods help her in the task.
