2x + 3y = 23...........................(1)

3x  - y  =  7   Multiply by 3:-

9x - 3y = 21      Adding this to equation (1):-

11x = 44
x =

Plug this into equation (1):-
2(4) + 3y = 23

3y = 15
y = 5

Answer is x = 4, y = 5

The bearing of point Y from point X is 070°.
Shkiper50 [21]

The bearing of point X <u>from</u> point Z is 285°

<h3>Calculating bearings </h3>

From the question, we are to determine the bearing of point X from point Z.

Consider the diagram attached

The bearing of point X <u>from</u> point Z is the measure of the angle from the North of Z in the <u>clockwise direction</u> to the line that goes to X.

That is,

The bearing of point X from point Z = 270° + 15°

The bearing of point X from point Z = 285°

Hence, the bearing of point X from point Z is 285°

Help answer please!!!!
MAVERICK [17]

Answer:

QR ≈ 16.2 ft

Step-by-step explanation:

Using the tangent ratio in the right triangle.

tan62° = \frac{opposite}{adjacent} = \frac{QR}{RP} = \frac{QR}{8.6} ( multiply both sides by 8.6 )

8.6 × tan62° = QR , then

QR ≈ 16.2 ft ( to the nearest tenth )

How many liters of water must Sharon add to 2 liters of a sugar and water solution that is 36% sugar to create a solution that i
Dahasolnce [82]

The amount of sugar x in the starting solution contributes to a 36% concentration, so we have

\dfrac x2=0.36\implies x=0.64

units of sugar in the solution.

Into this solution, Sharon wants to pour y liters of water to obtain a smaller concentration of sugar in the overall solution:

\dfrac{0.64}{2+y}=0.12\implies\dfrac{16}3=2+y\implies y=\dfrac{10}3\approx3.33

So Sharon needs to add \dfrac{10}3 liters of water to the solution to get the desired concentration.
