<span>In the 1860s and 1870s, hundreds of tenements are built, primarily on the Lower East Side and in other neighborhoods of southern Manhattan, as more and more poor immigrants are arriving in New York City. When these tenements were built, there were almost no laws regulating tenement construction.</span>
The Clovis culture was named by archaeologists after splint spearheads that were discovered in an area at Clovis, New Mexico last 1930s. The Clovis people are not the first one to to have come to America. They are believed to be hunters who made their way through Bering land bridge.

This is important because it shows what the statue represents. The statue represents liberty and freedom. This shows that the country is free and allows human rights.
