Marbury v. Madison is considered a landmark case mostly because the court’s ruling​

This was one of the most important Supreme Court cases in its history. It happened in 1803. It was a landmark case because the principle of "judicial review" was first applied to. Judicial review is used to review laws and regulations to see if they are in accordance with the Constitution. It gave an opportunity for better checks of other branches of the Government. In that way the judicial part of the government became equal in power with the President and with the Congress. Judicial review was established by John Marshall.
