In my opinion, I perceive the 2nd amendment as a fundamental amendment just like the 1st amendment is. The 2nd amendment guarantees the American people the right to bear arms in order to prevent a tyrannical take over of government and this today is a highly debated topic. But in my case, I think the 2nd amendment is also one of the key amendments that makes America unique as not many nations in the world give their citizens the right to bear arms without many restrictions from government. In addition, the 2nd amendment to me is something that should be protected like the 1st amendment as firearms are engraved deeply in American culture and built up many traditions for some families, created a large industry for firearms in the US, and allows for people to have the sufficient power to deter those who threaten to harm them when the police do not arrive fast enough to protect ones self.
