Two hormonal methods of contraception are birth control pills and implants. The pills are taken daily or 3 weeks out of the month and typically have two major hormones that prevent ovulation. The implant is a device placed in the arm that releases hormones constantly to prevent ovulation for up to 3 to 5 years.
