In the story "Star of Fear, Star of Hope" by Jo Hoestlandt, Madame Eleven O'Clock and Midnight Ghost were code words used for each person Helen's neighbor helped. Mrs. Keller's code word is "Madame Eleven O'Clock" because that is the time she was expected to arrive. The gentleman that was expected to arrive at midnight was Midnight Ghost. These code words allowed Helen's neighbor to identify and help others safely.
