Helen Keller was an American author most famous for overcoming the challenges caused by an illness that left her deaf and blind.

When Helen Keller was 19 months old, she was stricken with an infectious disease that is now believed to be scarlet fever or meningitis. After struggling to live, Keller became blind and deaf because of the infection. While she was born with brown eyes, the illness caused her to have her eyes removed and replaced with blue eyes made of glass. At the age of seven with the help of her teacher, Anne Sullivan, Keller was able to learn how to finger spell words while touching objects to build her vocabulary. Soon, Helen Keller was able to move from phrases like short, wavy hair to describe her own features to writing entire stories. Helen Keller became a renowned advocate for the education of all students and became a shining example of how many challenges can be overcome with the help of a teacher.
Based on the information above, what characteristic described is an inherited trait of Helen Keller?

Answer:

Brown eyes

Explanation:

Short hair is not a trait that can be inherited, her deafness was caused by a disease, not her parents genes, and fingerspelling was something she learned not inherited from her past generations. The color of eyes, however, is a gene that can be inherited.

How did Eliza P. Donner Houghton organize her autobiography?
ohaa [14]
The answer to this question would be the first option: She started when she was older and told the story going backwards. So in Eliza P. Donner Houghton's autobiography, it appeared like a story being told starting from the first events that she and her family have encountered up to the very last. It was actually a written account about their tragic experiences being an emigrant in the year 1846 wherein they have experienced extreme starvation and suffering.

In which quote from paragraph 14 does king deliver a conclusion meant persuade his audience to follow through on action.
scoray [572]

Answer:

I hope, sirs, you can understand our legitimate and unavoidable impatience.

Explanation:

The given question has the following options as a possible answer:

 • Perhaps it is easy for those who have never felt the stinging darts of segregation to say, "Wait."
 • When you suddenly find your tongue twisted and your speech stammering as you seek to explain to your six-year-old daughter why she can’t go to the public amusement park that has just been advertised on television.
 • Living constantly at tiptoe stance, never quite knowing what to expect next, and are plagued with inner fears and outer resentments.
 • I hope, sirs, you can understand our legitimate and unavoidable impatience.

These quotes are from the 14th paragraph of the Letter from Birmingham Jail, an open letter written by Martin Luther King Jr on April 16, 1963. It became an important part of the American Civil Rights Movement. It invites people to actively fight against injustice, which King calls a threat to justice everywhere, instead of waiting potentially forever for justice to come through the courts. As the fight for justice continues even in our time, this letter remains relevant.

The first three paragraphs tell about the struggles the black people were facing, and the last one is meant to persuade the audience to do something. So, the correct option is the fourth one: I hope, sirs, you can understand our legitimate and unavoidable impatience.
