A survey is conducted to determine the percentage of students at state universities who change their major at least once. In a S

RS of 100 students 78% indicated that they graduated with a major different from the one with which they entered college. Determine a 95% confidence interval for the percentage of students who change their major.

Answer:

<em>95% confidence interval for the percentage of students who change their major</em>

<em>(0.69881 , 0.86119)</em>

Step-by-step explanation:

<u><em>Step(i):-</em></u>

Given that the sample size 'n' = 100

Given that the sample proprtion

                        p = 78% = 0.78

Level of significance =0.05

Critical value Z₀.₀₅ = 1.96

<u><em>Step(ii):-</em></u>

The 95% of confidence interval is determined by

(p^{-} -Z_{0.05} \frac{\sqrt{p(1-p)} }{\sqrt{n} } , p^{-} +Z_{0.05} \frac{\sqrt{p(1-p)} )}{\sqrt{n} })

(0.78 - 1.96 \frac{\sqrt{0.78(1-0.78)} }{\sqrt{100} } , 0.78 +1.96 \frac{\sqrt{0.78(1-0.78} )}{\sqrt{100} })

(0.78 -  0.08119,0.78 + 0.08119 )

(0.69881 , 0.86119)

<u><em>Final answer:-</em></u>

<em>95% confidence interval for the percentage of students who change their major</em>

<em>(0.69881 , 0.86119)</em>

How do you prove the formula for the sum of an infinite converging series?<br> S∞=a1/1-r
8_murik_8 [283]

Step-by-step explanation:

so the infinite series is

a + ar + ar^2 + ar^3....

= a(1 + r + r^2 + r^3...)

= a(1 + r(1 + r + r^2 + r^3...))

ignore the a for a second

imagine it's 1

we call this sum S

S = 1 + r(1 + r + r^2 + r^3...)

S = 1 + rS

S - rS = 1

S(1 - r) = 1

S = 1/(1-r)

and the difference for that series is every term is multiplied by a

or S = a/(1-r)

Please can u answer this guys right now I need it now
jolli1 [7]

I don't know what you mean by benchmark but this is adding fractions. when you add fractions you must have the same denominator. 10 and 5 are not the same so you need to find the same denominators conveniently 2/5 is equivalent to 4/10 (by multiplying the fraction by 2) then you add the numerator straight across keeping the same denominator. that would be 5/10. Simplify to the is 1/2

01.01) Rewrite the expression with rational exponents as a radical expression. 7 times x to the two thirds power cube root of th
jeka94

Answer:

(7x)^{\frac{2}{3} = (\sqrt[3]{7x})^2

Step-by-step explanation:

Given the expression (7x)^{\frac{2}{3}, to express this as a radical expressions, we'd apply the rule/law of indices that deals with converting expressions that has rational exponents into radical expressions.

The rule of indices to apply is: b^{\frac{m}{n}} = (\sqrt[n]{b})^m

To apply this to the expression, (7x)^{\frac{2}{3}, the denominator of the fraction of the exponent would determine the root, that is, cube root in this case. The numerator of the exponent would then determine the exponent of the radical expressions.

Thus:

(7x)^{\frac{2}{3} = (\sqrt[3]{7x})^2

The graph of which of the following equations is a line parallel ot the graph of x-5y=8
kvv77 [185]

Since you don't show the graph, all I can do is to tell you how to identify which function is parallel to the x-5y=8.

First let's rearrange the function.

x-5y=8

5y=x-8

y=1/5x-8/5.

Thus, it gives us the slope of the function, which is 1/5.

And the function that is parallel to the graph would have the SAME slope. Which is 1/5. So all you need to do is to find which function has the SAME SLOPE, in this case: 1/5.
