Answer:

11 \frac{3}{8} miles.

Step-by-step explanation:

To find how many miles Brandon rode, we can create an equation in slope-intercept form: y = mx + b

$2.25 is the flat fee, or the unchanging variable. This is our y-intercept, or b.

$0.40 is the changing variable, as it changes value depending on the amount of miles ridden. This is our slope, or m.

We know Brandon spent $6.80 on the cab ride. So, this is our y.

We get the equation: 6.80 = 0.40x + 2.25.

To solve, first subtract 2.25 from both sides of the equation:

6.80 - 2.25 = 0.40x + 2.25 - 2.25

We get: 4.55 = 0.40x

Now, just divide by 0.40 on both sides:

4.55 ÷ 0.40 = 0.40x ÷ 0.40

We get: 11.375 = x

So, Brandon rode for 11.375 miles. When converted to a mixed number, we get 11 \frac{3}{8} .

Which description explains how the graph of f(x)=√x could be transformed to form the graph of g(x) = √x-6
yawa3891 [41]

Answer:

b

c

Step-by-step explanation:

First question: x - 6 means there is a shift to the right.

Second Question: substitute the given values into the original equation for appropriate transformations.

Answer: 3 |x-4| + 2, because vertical stretch multiplies x, horizontal shifts are subtracted or added to x, and vertical shifts are added or subtracted to the entire function.

Need to know the answer for this one , help
k0ka [10]

Answer:

Choice D.

Step-by-step explanation:

The range is the set of all y-coordinates of the points in the graph.

The graph is a wavy function that has a maximum y-coordinate of 1 and a minimum y-coordinate of -1. The y-coordinates can also be all numbers between -1 and 1. Choice A. is only the two numbers -1 and 1. That is not correct since the range comprises the numbers -1, 1, and all numbers in between -1 and 1.

Answer: Choice D.

According to the Holy Bible, Jesus begins to perform healings. There were many healers during Jesus’ time. What made Jesus’ heal
Gekata [30.6K]

Healing was essential to the ministry of Jesus because He envisioned healing as a physical symbol of forgiveness. He guaranteed the ultimate glory of the human body through His personal resurrection, but forecast that restoration by healing twisted, shrunken, blinded limbs and organs. The paralytic's restoration is but one of many such examples (Mark 2:1-12).

Though there were many healers, Jesus was able to even raise up the dead, and also there was one instance where the Canaanite woman struggled through His disciples' desire to dismiss her, and His own initial, courteous refusal, to get what she knew she could trust Him to grant (Matthew 16:28). The crowds "begged him to let the sick just touch the edge of his cloak," (Matthew 14:36), for "all who touched him were healed."

Healers were not able to do that, and Jesus also claimed that he was God's son, so performing miracles like this was like proving the point. Also, healers were not always able to heal the person, but Jesus was able to do so all the time (for free even!) so many people traveled to meet him so he could heal them.

The woman with a hemorrhage crept silently through the crowd to merely touch His clothes (Mark 5:28). She also claimed that she went to many healers, but she didn't get healed, in fact, she got worse! So that's an instance that proves the point.

<em>Thank you :D</em>

Madison buys supplies so she can make and sell wind chimes. She begins
Studentka2010 [4]
<h3>Explanation:</h3>

In the graph x-coordinate represents the number of wind chimes sold and y-coordinate represents the profit Madison earned. If a point is below the x-axis, means it has negative y-coordinate than it represents loss. Points above x-axis should have x-coordinate more than 6 as stated in the question that she started earning profit after selling her first 6 wind chimes. All the points having x-coordinate less than 6 should lie on or below the x-axis.

By the above statement point B is completely wrong. Point C and Point A are also wrong as they both x-coordinate more than 6 but still they are below x-axis.

Point D is the makes most sense here as it has x-coordinate more than 6 and it is above x-axis. This means that when Madison sold 7 wind chimes she was in a profit of $3.75.
