Answer:

Yes, Washington was right. Political parties are "models" that people follow and are blinded by when told certain information. One side will refuse to acknowledge any truth in the other side and vice versa. Many political parties will also use emotional appeals and propaganda (glittering generalities, card-stacking, testimonial, transfer, etc.) to promote empathy for their party. It has become a series of events that use a ton of money. It is also slowly dividing the country as seen when democrats were wishing Trump misfortune when he got the coronavirus.
