Why is prometheus a hero to romantic poets
spayn [35]

Answer:

Prometheus symbolizes human nature and the need or striving for freedom despite the suffering he has to endure.

Explanation:

The Romantics believe in the overall goodness of man and the focus of this age of literature is on emotions and individualism. This period believes in the importance of sense and emotions, imagination, the goodness of human nature, and how there is an innate sense of goodness in everyone despite the hindrances that civilization may pose.

The myth of Prometheus is one where there is a conflict between the man Prometheus and nature. And in this very stance of striving for human progress despite many forces of nature working against it, Prometheus depicts the very aspect of what the Romantics perceive as a hero. And in his suffering, he also embodies and becomes a noble champion and symbol of human nature, and the freedom desired.

Thus, Prometheus is a hero to the Romantic poets.
