The British were the colonial masters of India. During this period of colonial rule, they built a lot of infrastructure in India.

The Infrastructures that they built included railways, water ports, means of water transportation, and the telegraph.

But the reasons for all these developments were not to serve India but to serve themselves. They wanted to rule India more efficiently. The political and economic ambitions of the British were the reasons for this.
